Job Description
We are seeking a licensed Engineer or Registered Architect with at least five years of relevant experience to join our client’s innovative and dynamic team.
This role offers the opportunity to lead and manage renovation and consulting projects, guide design development, deliver technical expertise, and ensure projects are completed on time, within scope, and on budget.
The company are a nationally recognized Architectural/Engineering Consulting firm specializing in existing building renovations and multi-family residential projects.
Locations: United States – (New Jersey, New York, Philadelphia)
Project Management & Coordination:
- Lead internal project meetings (kick-off, milestone, closeout) to promote alignment and effective communication.
- Oversee project schedules, ensuring deadlines are met across internal and external resources.
- Maintain thorough project documentation and ensure proper record-keeping within company systems.
Site Inspections & Field Work:
- Conduct on-site investigations to assess existing conditions; document findings through sketches, photography, and field testing.
- Take accurate field measurements and perform relevant calculations.
- Track and evaluate work in progress for adherence to design specifications.
Technical Communication & Documentation:
- Prepare clear written correspondence for clients and contractors throughout the project lifecycle.
- Interpret and apply investigation reports, bid documents, and technical specifications accurately.
- Identify and resolve project issues proactively, escalating when needed.
Design & Engineering Support:
- Provide technical support for architectural and engineering design activities.
- Perform and review calculations, CAD drawings, and design specifications.
- Contribute to the development of construction documents, including plans and technical details.
- Review and approve change orders, RFIs, and payment applications.
Investigation & Testing:
- Conduct and supervise a variety of tests (material, structural, performance) and interpret the results.
- Perform root-cause analyses of failures or defects in the field.
- Generate detailed field and expert reports with analytical findings and recommendations.
Client Engagement:
- Clearly communicate technical findings and project progress during stakeholder meetings.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships, ensuring satisfaction and trust.
Internal Collaboration
- Work closely with internal teams to understand project scope, budget, timelines, and deliverables.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to peers and junior team members.
Professional Development & Representation:
- Stay current on industry standards through continued education, professional associations, and technical publications.
- Represent the firm at industry events, seminars, and networking functions.
- Seek out business development and marketing opportunities beyond internal company initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) or Registered Architect (RA) in the United States.
- 5+ years of experience in building renovation, multi-family residential consulting/design, or related fields.
- Strong technical, communication, and organizational skills.
- Proficient in CAD and capable of performing engineering/design calculations.
- Willingness to travel for site inspections and field work as needed.
