Our multidisciplinary experts provide scientific, engineering, and technical analysis across a broad range of litigation, insurance, and risk management matters.

Our Human Factors practice works alongside accident reconstructionists, biomechanists, safety experts, engineers to deliver objective, evidence-based opinions in complex legal and investigative matters.

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Human Factors Scientist / Expert Witness to join our growing team. This is a fully remote position offering the opportunity to work on high-profile litigation matters involving product liability, transportation incidents, premises liability, workplace safety, consumer products, warnings and instructions, and human performance issues.

The successful candidate will apply principles of human factors, ergonomics, cognition, perception, decision-making, and behavior to evaluate incidents and provide clear, defensible expert opinions. This role combines scientific analysis, consulting, and expert witness responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct human factors and ergonomics analyses related to accidents, injuries, and product use.
  • Evaluate issues involving perception, attention, visibility, warnings, decision-making, usability, and human performance.
  • Review depositions, medical records, incident reports, photographs, videos, and other case materials.
  • Prepare detailed technical reports and expert opinions.
  • Develop demonstrative evidence and presentations to support findings.
  • Provide deposition and trial testimony as a designated expert witness.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including engineers, biomechanists, accident reconstructionists, and safety professionals.
  • Support business development efforts and maintain strong client relationships.

Qualifications Required

  • Ph.D. or Master’s degree in Psychology, Cognitive Science, Industrial/Organizational Psychology, or a related field.
  • 8+ years of relevant professional experience.
  • Strong technical writing and communication skills.
  • Experience conducting complex human factors analyses.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Willingness to travel periodically for site inspections
  • Deposition and expert witness experience
