The Role:

We are looking for a qualified Mechanical Engineer, to perform engineering analysis related to accidents, failures, and disputes. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical engineering background and expertise in forensic analysis to investigate and determine the root cause of mechanical failures or incidents. You will apply your technical knowledge to support insurance claims, legal cases, and client inquiries.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct forensic investigations and provide analysis of mechanical systems, products, and structures involved in accidents, failures, or other incidents.
  • Perform detailed engineering evaluations of mechanical failures, equipment malfunctions, or property damage.
  • Provide clear, concise, and technically accurate reports for clients, attorneys, and insurance companies.
  • Work with attorneys, adjusters, and other professionals to support legal and insurance-related investigations.
  • Review documents, design specifications, and maintenance records related to mechanical failures.
  • Present findings in depositions, trials, or expert testimony when required.
  • Stay updated on the latest developments in mechanical engineering and forensic investigation techniques.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of engineers, technicians, and specialists to support complex investigations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Professional Engineering (PE) license preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of mechanical engineering experience, with at least 2 years in forensic analysis or failure investigations.
  • Experience in accident reconstruction, mechanical failure analysis, or product liability investigations is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of mechanical systems, failure modes, and related testing methods.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects effectively.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to prepare and present clear, detailed reports for technical and non-technical audiences.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience in forensic engineering or insurance-related investigations.
  • Familiarity with CAD software, Finite Element Analysis (FEA), and other engineering tools.
