Job Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Building Science/Enclosure Consultant to join our client’s all-star team in Boston, MA.

The successful candidate will play a business-critical and key role in helping the building enclosure group, team and projects across the East Coast. Successful candidates will provide both technical and managerial oversight of the region, collaborating with other offices and, advising clients, developing strategies to improve the performance and sustainability of buildings. You will work with architects, engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure buildings meet high standards of energy efficiency, comfort, and environmental responsibility.

They specialize in providing expert guidance and innovative solutions for the design, construction, and operation of high-performance buildings. The firm offer services that focus on optimizing energy efficiency, sustainability, indoor air quality, and overall building performance, assisting clients in areas such as building envelope design, moisture control, thermal performance, ventilation, and energy modelling.

Key Responsibilities:

  • The role will focus on the development of building enclosure consulting for new and existing buildings in the eastern US region.
  • The role will also focus on providing technical leadership in the areas of investigation, rehabilitation, and design of building enclosure systems on historic and contemporary structures.
  • This includes specialized and focused experience in the design and integration of complex building enclosures systems, including waterproofing, air and water barriers, rain screen cladding, and fenestration systems. existing building repairs, rehabilitations.
  • The position will also include developing client relationships, identifying and responding to project opportunities and RFPs in the local market, and developing and delivering building science services to clients with new and existing facilities, including forensics, litigation, and insurance.
  • Lead and manage building science projects from start to finish, including assessments, analysis, and recommendations for building performance improvements.
  • Lead business development efforts, including preparing proposals, networking, and maintaining client relationships.
  • Mentor and guide junior team members, helping to foster professional development and growth within the company.
  • Stay current with industry trends, new technologies, and best practices in building science, energy efficiency, and sustainability.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Applied Science or Architecture required.
  • Master’s degree preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in building science and engineering, with knowledge of architecture and construction with a focus on building enclosures.
  • Knowledge of building systems, HVAC, moisture control, and energy-efficient design principles.
  • Familiarity with industry standards and certifications such as ASHRAE, LEED, WELL, and Passive House.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to a wide range of audiences.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, with strong organizational and time management skills.
