Job Description

We are seeking an enthusiastic, driven and dynamic Structural Engineer with strong restoration experience and knowledge of rehabilitation and construction industry to join an industry-leading Architectural/Engineering Consulting firm in the West coast.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strong restoration experience and knowledge of rehabilitation and construction industry
  • Experience with historic construction materials and systems
  • Proficient in reviewing and interpreting both contemporary and historic structural drawings
  • Competent in conducting visual/hands-on assessments and developing condition assessment reports including observations, conclusions, recommendations, prioritization of repair alternatives, and engineer’s opinion of probable costs
  • Familiar with destructive and non-destructive testing methods for concrete, steel, and timber
  • Competent in preparing design drawings, specifications, performing bidding services, and conducting construction phase services including site visits, field reports, project meetings, submittal review, pay app review and verifying contractor compliance with design intent
  • Competent at performing project management duties, including client coordination, team coordination, and project control (schedule, budget, design, quality, and profitability)

 

About you:

  • Looking for a change in scenery and an interest in working for a company with direct mentorship, leadership and autonomy.
  • Bachelor’s degree in structural/civil/architectural engineering
  • 10 years of experience in structural engineering related to evaluating and rehabilitating existing structures, primarily concrete
  • Hold a professional license or have the capacity to acquire a license.
  • Technically proficient in structural analysis
  • Experience in the design of a broad range of construction materials and methods, particularly concrete.
  • Proficient ability in AutoCAD or Revit
